Abstract
Orthopedic / Musculo-skeletal and dermatological presentations are common, and generally true to
their apparent diagnoses. In some cases, the presentation points to a deeper systemic illness which must be diagnosed and treated in a timely manner in order to mitigate damage systemically. In this CME presentation actual cases will be used to illustrate the dangerous or lingering pathologies that present in these manners, and to outline proper investigation and therapeutics.
OBJECTIVES:
- Describe the types of presentations which can indicate deeper pathology
- Discuss the methods of diagnosis required
- Consider the therapeutics required to stop potential pathology
- Discuss the follow up required to assure resolution
