QUESTION: I work with a doctor who suggested that I email you to ask since you know everything! I have an 85 yo F patient who has colorectal cancer that I have been treating for a few years now. She has recently been diagnosed with severe aortic stenosis but she wants to continue with HDIVC because she feels so great with it. What are your thoughts and should I be concerned? Any suggestions that you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Should I give her a Myers instead to maintain the bump that she feels afterward? Thank you so much.

ANSWER: I don’t know everything but I do keep track of shit… I’d document bilateral arm BP pre, during and post IV (showing return to baseline etc) and just do it. Unless it deranges her BP it is fine – and if it does let me know! Should be fine
