Clinical Science Review Overview
The current format includes a twenty-plus module series of presentations arranged in a case / organ / complaint format based on the clinical science format used by NABNE / NPLEX.
For each complaint / body system (Cardio, Neurology…) area the following topic areas will be
focused on:
- Clinical and Physical Diagnosis
- Pharmacology
- Laboratory Diagnosis
- Imaging and Electrodiagnosis
- Basic Nutrition
- Basic Pharmacogonosy
- Emergency Medicine / Emergency Obstetrics
- Minor Surgery Concepts
- Concepts in Pediatric Cases
- Injection / IV Therapy Concepts
- Nutrient and Biochemical agents
(For example: as conditions in cardiology are discussed their clinical presentation, pharmacology basic nutrition, laboratory concepts etc… will be covered in the same unit. – just as you will encounter them in the cases on the Board exams.)
The feedback from students at the various Naturopathic programs is that this format assists them greatly in forming a core of clinical concepts around which they can build other study areas (Homeopathy, Botanical Medicine etc.).
The organ system sections focus on the diagnosis / DDX, presentation, laboratory and imaging diagnosis and pharmacology as appropriate.
