QUESTION: I have a port question for you. I have a FOC cancer patient (Stage 4 gastric, terminal with prognoses of 2-3 weeks). I was contacted by the friend and asked if I would be welling to help with higher dose vitamin C IVs. I talked and made sure we are on the same page as far as expectations and so on. I did ask for a G6PD test to be done. The Patient is scheduled to come in tomorrow. I am going to start with lower dose Multi to get things started. Is there any problem with me drawing from his port? other than clearing it properly with NaCl and Heparin is there anything else I need to know?
